Americana Highways brings you this premiere of The Wild West’s version of Neil Young’s song “Comes A Time.” The Wild West is: Tawny Ellis, Manda Mosher, Amilia K Spicer, Pi Jacobs, Heather Anne Lomax, Deb Morrison.
The song was produced by Tawny Ellis and Manda Mosher; mixed by Bob Clearmountain; engineered by Eric Craig, Manda Mosher, Jason Soda, Pi Jacobs, Amilia K Spicer, Nic Capelle, and Jamie Douglass. It was mastered by David Donnelly for DNA Mastering, with photography by Jason Willheim and cover design by John David Howard.
The track is slated for release on Friday, November 12 for Neil’s birthday. It features Scarlet Rivera from Bob Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue on violin.

It’s thrilling the way this group took a wonderful song and added spine tingling harmonies to honor it even further. And the violin cuts through like it is destined to be there.
Neil Young’s “Comes A Time” has always been one of my favorite songs of all time. It’s a reminder that the world keeps on spinning around no matter what we may be going through. It’s a song about our beautiful earth and our existence on it together. I was so excited when I suggested it to the band to cover because I was dying to hear what all the harmonies would sound like with the ladies of The Wild West. It was also such an honor that my dear friend Scarlet Rivera agreed to make a guest appearance on it. The song wouldn’t be complete without her violin. It was the cherry on the top! It was a great joy to hear this arrangement come together in rehearsals and the studio with the ladies. Each member of The Wild West brings their own unique vocal and instrumental approach to the band and then we work together to craft our parts and arrangements. We’re also producing our own recordings with each member taking the helm on the song they bring in to the group. It’s a beautiful example of independent female solo artists working together to create a collective sound. When we heard Bob Clearmountain’s mix come in, it was a thrill.
