Rebekah Snyder “Someday Lullaby”
Americana Highways presents this premiere of Rebekah Snyder’s song “Someday Lullaby” from her forthcoming album Ready to Ride! was was produced by Dean Miller, mixed by David Buchanan, and recorded at Beaird Music Group in Nashville, Tennessee.
“Someday Lullaby” is Rebekah Snyder on vocals, Evan Hutchins on drums, Eli Beaird on bass, James Mitchell on electric guitar, Billy Nobel on piano, Andy Ellison on steel guitar, and Devin Malone on acoustic guitar.
Rebekah told us about the song’s inception, “Written from a deeply personal perspective, the song is addressed to Snyder’s children through the lens of a future conversation she hopes to have with them one day, when they are old enough to understand. Because of both their young age and the legal realities surrounding domestic violence, the story is one that cannot yet be shared openly. Instead, the song becomes a promise that someday the truth will be told.”
In a thoughtful observation on motherhood, Rebekah asks ” Have you ever stop to wonder why a mother never sleeps? Why the juries and the judges, honey, they all play for keeps?” Motherhood is a struggle where at every moment you’re bound to support and at every moment you feel you aren’t doing enough. And then the song takes a turn, singing to her children someday when they’re grown, about how to leave when something just isn’t right. She offers solid advice in the most tender of styles.
