Rebekah Snyder “Small Town”
Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Rebekah Snyder’s song “Small Town” from her forthcoming album which was produced, mixed, and engineered by Dean Miller and recorded at Beard Music Studios.
Musicians on “Small Town” are Rebekah Snyder on vocals; Eli Beaird on bass, James Mitchell on guitar; Miles McPherson on drums; Dane Bryant on piano; Eddy Dunlap on guitar and slide guitar; and Pat McGrath on acoustic guitar.
As Rebekah tells us about writing this song, “I unexpectedly found myself a single mom raising three young children, and being able to bring them home to the small town where I grew up meant everything to me,” says Snyder. “This song is about the people, values, and community that helped me raise my children. I don’t know how I could have done it anywhere else.” That deeply personal experience is reflected in lyrics such as, “I recommend raising kids in a small town… Open arms stay waiting for them in their small town,” capturing the song’s message of home, resilience, and community.”
The song leads off with the “I recommend dropping by to a small down,” and the images of comfort and the sky full of stars, softball fields, and folks that you know. Rebekah’s ideals of the small town life are reassuring and relaxing to consider. A nice, easy song.
