Ruby & Sasha “Hay Fever”
Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Ruby& Sasha’s song “Hay Fever” from their forthcoming album. It was produced, engineered and mixed by Daniel Markus and mastered by Elaine Rasnake.
“Hay Fever” was written by Sasha and Ruby Rechler, also on vocals; with Daniel Markus on baritone guitar; Sam Schuman on drums; Julian Smith on lead guitar; and Natalia Catalan on bass.
As the duo says, “Inspired by the familiar allergy that leaves people drained, congested, and struggling to catch their breath, “Hay Fever” transforms those physical symptoms into a metaphor for a quieter, more internal experience. The season that promises fresh starts and endless possibility instead becomes a backdrop for emotional distance, where the beauty of the world is impossible to ignore but difficult to fully inhabit.”
Sometimes we just feel out of sync with life, and that’s what “Hay Fever” is all about. There are layers here: one of that groggy feeling brought about by allergies, and another is that foggy feeling that life isn’t quite going the way we envision it should. All sung in the catchiest of indie folk styles.
