Daryl Mosley – “Mayberry State of Mind”

Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of Daryl Mosley’s song “Mayberry State of Mind,” from his forthcoming album A Life Well Lived due to be released on Pinecastle Records. The album was produced by Daryl Mosley and Danny Roberts and engineered by Chris Latham at Gorilla’s Nest in Ashland City, Tennessee.

“Mayberry State Of Mind” is Danny Roberts on mandolin; Tony Wray on guitar and banjo; Adam Haynes on fiddle; Daryl Mosley on bass; and Jeanette Williams on harmony vocals.

The video was produced by Ethan Burkhardt, directed by Brian Auburn, with videographers Ethan Burkhardt & Brian Auburn.  The hustle and bustle of small town life on a sunny spring day are captured by the bright acoustic strings of this song. Sometime you don’t care if you get fired today because you’re “in a Mayberry State of mind…”  and “because all this working and no living is not the way I am designed…” And the lyrics even include a friendly game of checkers with a slice of homemade apple pie down by the river.  There’s so much more to life than clocking in 9 – 5, and thanks to Daryl for pointing to out so sweetly.

A lot of us who live in small town America consider our town a “Mayberry” kind of town; a place where people really care about each other and take care of one another. I certainly see my hometown of Waverly Tennessee as that kind of place. So it was such an honor to film the music video in Waverly. The businesses and the people you see in the video are real and they had a lot of fun being part of it. Even that monster milkshake was real (and delicious!) The river scenes were filmed just outside of town at Duck River. This is where my dad and I used to fish so it’s also a really special place to me. I really loved being able to show my own little “Mayberry” to the world. – Daryl Mosley
