Karen Bella — “Jack Honey”
Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of Karen Bella’s song “Jack Honey,” from her recent self-titled album. The album was produced by Josh Dion of Paris Monster, engineered by Jake Lummus and mastered by Nate Woods.
“Jack Honey” is Karen Bella on lead vocals and acoustic guitar; Josh Dion on drums, percussion, synth bass, and piano; and Ryan Scott on electric slide guitar and bass.
The video was directed and produced by James Callahan for Camp Rattler. It was produced by Denise Kovalevich (dmk Publicity) with Kristin Shimonis. Jared Sokirka was the director of photography for the for video with additional cameras by Megan Maslo, and Craig Friebolin & Ruthie Cruz. Make-up and hair were courtesy of Brit Goldberg/ Heavy Metal Hair Salon and sound was supplied by Brian Quinn.
Actors in the video are Jared Sokirka (love interest), Megan Maslo (flirty girl in bar), Craig Friebolin (door knocker) and band actors: Martin Spitko, Bobby DeStefano, and Robert Nolan. Against the backdrop of a fun flirty story, the video for “Jack Honey” is as full of desire as the song. Karen Bella has a decidedly sultry way about her, from her vocals all the way through the song itself. Listen and watch and see for yourself.
I’m so proud of the ‘Jack Honey’ music video. It was important for me to know that the story left the viewer wanting more. Working with Camp Rattler, allowed me to be creative, which was liberating. After watching the final version, I knew that James, the crew and I shared the same vision about how the song should be translated to film. — Karen Bella
