In rich musical surroundings, Kalyn Fay serenades us in realism without regret. In the end I’d do it all over again.

I wrote and recorded Make It a few years ago, but it felt like one of those songs that I had to sit with a little longer. While writing it, I was struggling to balance different aspects of life – relationships, finances, health, career – and felt like I’d worn myself thin. Despite that feeling, I knew I would have taken the same path if it meant getting back to the same place – having an appreciation for the struggle and the knowledge that comes with it. Now, this song rings even truer for me than before. Alongside so much uncertainty in the world, it does feel like I’m just trying to make it these days, but I still know I would do it all over again because that path gave me stories to share and a supportive community with which to share them. — Kalyn Fay
