Gary Marks “The Real World”
Americana Highways presents this video premiere of Gary Marks’ song “The Real World,” the title track from his forthcoming album. The Real World was produced and mixed by Gary Marks, and mastered by Bernie Grundman.
“The Real World” is Gary Marks on vocals, piano and keyboards, acoustic guitar and drum tracks; Tony Saunders on bass; Stef Burns (Alice Cooper band) on lead guitar; and Teresa Trull, Vicki Randle, Vicki Randle, and Gary Marks on backing vocals.
As Gary tells us, “One day we’re born and given much too soon to the dream we must adhere to. Scattered and torn, and some die with no truth to come to….. The real world, the merging rivers singing songs I want to know.”
This video was created by Skylar Marks. Some songs immediacy conjure images of wide open spaces and the summertime skies, and this song is absolutely one of them. Spacious with celebratory lyrics but never too showy, this song will give you widely expansive feelings. The touches of horns really work perfectly in the mix too.
