Craig Greenberg – “Song of December”

Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Craig Greenberg’s song “Song of December.”  The song was produced by Craig Greenberg and Wayne Silver at the Ice Plant Studio in Long Island City, New York, and mastered by Alex Psadourakis.

“Song of December” is Craig Greenberg on piano, vocals, rhythm guitar, bass, organ, and percussion; Hiroyuki Matsuura on drums; Wayne Silver on lead and rhythm guitars.  When the darkest weeks of the year are upon us, we turn to introspection, and this song taps into that part of the cycle.  Greenberg turns this to a hopeful outcome, and a hope that love will find us if we lead with our heart.  A catchy hopeful arrangement.

This is a song about the struggle of the creative process, and about finding inspiration to push through that struggle. It’s about looking back at the challenges of the year, and looking toward a brighter tomorrow, so it is indeed a hopeful song.

I started writing “Song of December” in late 2017. I  hit a wall and put it down, and it kind of got lost in the shuffle. The following couple of years I would revisit and chip away at it.. Then in 2021 i put it in my calendar to work on the song everyday in December, and finally got it finished! In Dec 2022 I was releasing my last EP (Between the Sea and the Sky), so recording it got put off til this year. Very excited to finally be putting it out! – Craig Greenberg
