The Brook & The Bluff “Werewolf”
The Nashville-based band The Brook & The Bluff are back, and they clearly intend to be heard. Their new album Werewolf, releasing on March 6 on Dualtone Music Group, arrives on a label well known to Americana and indie rock listeners for quality music.
Although rock has always been part of their DNA, this time — judging by the single “105” — they’ve thrown diesel on the fire. Pedal to the metal, asphalt burning, and broken hearts left behind in the rearview mirror: the track channels an unapologetic Southern boogie-rock lineage, built for driving in the fast lane, the speedometer pushing to 105 mph.
Recorded at Peptalk Studio in Nashville, TN, the band — composed of Joseph Settine and Alec Bolton (guitars and vocals), John and Kevin Canada (drums and keyboards), and Micah Tawlks (bass, who also produced the record) — tried to transcribe the electrifying atmosphere the companions experienced on the road, after nights and days of blood, sweat, and tears.
The ten-song album opens with the title track, “Werewolf,” whose muscular, sharp boogie riffs set the tone for the LP: an energetic Southern-fried rock sound, yet with a melodic sense that recalls the best of Tom Petty.
The second track, “Get By,” with its heady cowbell, is cut from the same cloth, while the more intimate “Can’t Figure It Out” and “Baby Blue” slow down the pace with a folk-country vibe. The highest point of the record is their stadium-rock anthem “Super Bowl Sunday,” built on catchy choruses and incisive lead guitars.
“Moving Along” closes this blend of rock ’n’ roll anthems and folk ballads with a laid-back track driven by a Wurlitzer and harmonica.
The Brook & The Bluff will hit the road for a nationwide headline tour supporting the new album starting in March 2026. It’ll include stops at DC’s 9:30 Club, Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl, NYC’s Webster Hall, LA’s The Bellwether, and Denver’s Ogden Theatre among many others.
