Kevin Bowe – “I Hate Falling in Love”
Americana Highways presents this premiere of Kevin Bowe and the Okemah Prohpets’ song “I Hate Falling in Love” from his recently released album Half Past Never. Half Past Never was recorded, produced and mixed by Kevin Bowe in the Kill Room in Minneapolis.
Kevin has written songs on platinum records and Grammy winning albums working with The Replacements, Etta James, Joe Cocker, Paul Westerberg, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, 3 Dog Night, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Little Steven Van Zandt, and John Mayall. Kevin’s music has also appeared in shows like The Sopranos and Shameless and more.
“I Hate Falling in Love” is Kevin Bowe on vocals and guitar; Peter Anderson on drums;
and Gordy Johnson on bass. “Every time you see ’em it only gets worse,” rings so true in this gentle treatment of a heavy emotional experience. “Have you ever felt so empty…?”
This video was shot and edited by Darin Back, in a perfectly dark and shady setting for the shuffly dark song.
Hey, it was Covid and I was listening to a LOT of Harry Nilsson and Tom Waits, as one does when the world is ending. – Kevin Bowe
