Antonio Andrade – “Get a Little Cup”
Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Antonio Andrade’s song “Get a Little Cup” from his soon-to-be-released album My Reward. My Reward will be available on October 27th. It was produced by Antonio, co-produced and engineered by Derek Euston, and mixed by Derek and Antonio. It was recorded at The Green Room in Harrisburg, PA.
“Get a Little Cup” is Antonio Andrade on vocals, acoustic guitar, and harmonica; Derek Euston on bass guitar, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, organ, and mandolin; Richard “Raggs” Ranaglia on saxes, clarinet, and flute; Denny Neidich on drums, congas, and percussion; and Amma Johnson on vocals.
Antonio is a bit of a merry, tongue in cheek songwriter, as this is a tale of an undertaker who dresses all in black and whose previous wives are all dead and buried and he’s alone in his king-sized bed. “Put a little in a bucket, don’t need an empty bucket, get a little cup, you don’t need a 10 gallon bucket.” That way, it’s easier to see it as half full.
There’s a difference between wanting and needing. Maybe I don’t need a Cadillac, or a girlfriend. What’s important in life? I think the funeral director hit it on the head in this song! — Antonio Andrade
