The Push & Shove — “Young Boy”
Americana Highways brings you this premiere of The Push & Shove’s new single “Young Boy” from their forthcoming debut album The Rookie (out June 2nd). The album was produced and engineered by Stuart Sullivan (Sublime, Meat Puppets, Butthole Surfers). “Young Boy” was written by song writing partners Sean O’Conner and Tony Mattioli. It was recorded live at Wire Recording Studio, Austin TX with recording engineer Stuart Sullivan.
“Young Boy” is Sean O’Conner on vocals and guitar; Will Tanner on bass; Rob Bernard on guitar; Claude Bernard on keyboards, and Bill Corsello on drums.
The music evokes the classic sounds of early Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger, Thin Lizzy, Meatloaf and Van Morrison while blending in the power of Blood Sweat and Tears and Chicago. Modern in its energy with unapologetic swagger.
He’s loved her for years. He was once a young boy but now so much more, and she’s gotten more spectacular every year, and still turning heads. From Baja to the (San Francisco) Bay they’ve shared their lives and times, and most importantly their smiles.
We played a gig the night before to be ready for the session, I believe this one was one of the first we put down – we kept the scratch track for the vocals. — Sean O’Conner
