Song Premiere: Angelica Rockne “Age of the Voyeur”

Listen & Watch Song Premieres

Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Angelica Rockne’s song “Age of the Voyeur” from her forthcoming album The Rose Society, due to be released on May via Fluff and Gravy Records (North America) and Loose Music (Europe). The album was produced by Angelica Rockne, recorded at Ancient Wave Studios in Nevada City; and mixed and mastered by Oz Fritz.

“Age of the Voyeur” is Angelica Rockne on vocals and rhythm guitar; Cody Rhodes on drums and percussion; Jason Cirimele on lead guitar and bass; Patrick McGee on piano and organ; Lea Thomas on background vocals; Graham Patzner on violin, fiddle, and synthesizer; and Lewis Patzner on cello.

It’s a lovely, natural-sounding song about reconnecting with nature, and rich with piano and harmonies, and the reflective “if I could release you, surely you could release me.”

I had just arrived in LA and was holding this beautiful, impressionistic vision of the city. Every unfamiliar street was like an opportunity, a channel for dreaming. Before long, though, the shadow side was revealed. “Age of the Voyeur” speaks to how disconnected we’ve become to the earth and source. It also recalls back to the time when we were intrinsically bound to them, and the sense that we can get back there. — Angelica Rockne
