Doyle Turner — “Best If I Forget”

Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of Doyle Turner’s song “Best If I Forget,” from his album Sweet, Difficult Sounds, newly available as of September 17. Sweet, Difficult Sounds was produced by Ted Hajnasiewicz; engineered by Troy Foss; and recorded, mixed, and mastered at Supple Studios, Bemidji, MN.  It was mastered by Troy Foss at Supple Studios in Bemidji, MN.

“Best If I Forget” is Doyle Turner on vocals, acoustic and electric guitars;  Doug Quance on drums; Ted Hajnasiewicz on bass, harmonies and electric guitar; Troy Foss on percussion; Steve Puffer on keys and piano; and Sarah Morris on harmonies.

Eli Gardiner was the videographer and editor for the video, which was shot in the tap room of
Lupine Brewing, Delano, MN, with special thanks to the venue and Wren Floral.
Still photography was courtesy of TJ Turner @ https://tjturnerpictures.com/.  Doyle Turner, Molly Turner, and Ted Hajnasiewicz appear in the video.

Lush cinematography of the guitar playing hands, hands writing a note, and candle flames lends a poignant visual to this song of longing.  “Send me bad news in writing … flame defines this aching in my chest…leaving it to smolder is the best that I can get.” Quite a lovely project.

I feel so fortunate to have worked with Eli Gardiner, Lupine Brewing, and Wren Floral to create this video for the first single off of the album “Sweet, Difficult Sounds.” The colors, motion, and abstract images that Eli captured are stunning, and bring the song to a new level, evoking more nuances to the story within the song. — Doyle Turner
