Amelia White — “Rocket Rearview”
Americana Highways is hosting this video premiere of Amelia White’s song “Rocket Rearview,” the title track from her forthcoming album due to be available on September 30. The album was produced and engineered by Dave Coleman at Howards Apt. Studio in East Nashville. It was mastered by True East Mastering.
“Rocket Rearview” is Amelia on acoustic guitar and vocals; Erin Rae Mckaskle on backing vocals; Dave Coleman on guitars, and bass; Paul Niehaus on pedal steel and Chris Benelli on drums and percussion.
The video was created by Duende Vision. Amelia White is truly prophetic. She wrote this song in the days before women fell over the brink and lost their rights — and it’s exactly right on target, right now. Tinged with seriousness and twangy sorrow, Amelia White’s “Rocket Rearview” is more than a bandaid for what ails us.
Fed up with the madness of this world and society a woman leaves her home and family and flies solo into space searching for freedom – to her surprise she finds the beauty of the earth, and that all her unfinished dreams have followed her, In the end she misses her loved ones, you get to decide if she returns or not! The interesting thing is that this song ( Co written with Minton Sparks) was one of the two tracks written before the pandemic and of course pre- the Roe-V- Wade turnover.
