Song Premiere: Chad Cooke Band Gets a Little Too Rowdy at the Honky Tonk

Listen & Watch Song Premieres

Americana Highways presents this premiere of Chad Cooke Band’s song “Honky Tonk Tonight,” from their forthcoming self-titled album, due to be released in October.

The album was produced by Grady Saxman (Saxman Studios); mixed by Jonathan Roach; and mastered by Frank Gagliardi.

“Honky Tonk Tonight” was written by Andy Albert and Kendell Marvel. Musicians on the song are Chad Cooke on vocals; Kevin Pool, Dallas McGilberry, and Mike Neyra on backing vocals; Grady Saxman on drums;  Kevin “Swine” Grant on bass; Scotty Sanders on steel guitar; David Dorn on keys;
Justin Ostrander on electric guitar; and Pat McGrath on acoustic guitar.

Rollicking electric honky tonk music is served up fresh here with growly vocals by Chad Cooke.  About to drown in a sea of suds?  Turn this up and get up on your toes and enjoy. “The rowdy crowd’s about to get out of hand.”

Smokey bars, loud guitars, snakeskin boots, and parking lot fights pave the rural route road that leads to “Honky Tonk Tonight.” This song was pitched to us by songwriters Andy Albert and Kedell Marvel. The band and I fell in love with this song the moment we heard it. It really captures the essence of being in a rowdy honky tonk, and for a band like us who feels right at home in these types of clubs, it was a perfect match. Cheers to the small town dusty dives where country music is alive and kickin! — Chad Cooke
