Mary Lou Fulton — “The Red, White, and Blue (Jan 6 Mix)”

Mary Lou Fulton

Americana Highways presents this video premiere of Mary Lou Fulton’s song “The Red, White, and Blue (Jan 6 Mix),” a song from her recent release We’ll Tell Stories, which was produced by Rob Seals, recorded at Sound Boutique Studios in Los Angeles; and mastered by Reuben Cohen of Lurssen Mastering.

“The Red, White, and Blue (Jan 6 Mix)” is Mary Lou Fulton on lead vocals; Sean Hurley on bass; Rob Seals on guitar; Mark Stepro on drums; and Annette Adler and Karen Turner on harmony vocals.

The video was animated by Empire Animate (www.EmpireAnimate.com); with the concept and script by Mary Lou Fulton.  It’s a very compelling consideration of the concept of love of country and what that means, in a catchy arrangement and sung with sincerity. “The red, white, and blue belongs to you and me.”

I created this new mix of “The Red, White and Blue” as a call to action for the 2022 election year when American democracy is very much on the line. The circumstances facing our nation inspired me to write a patriotic song that speaks to the current moment when flag-waving white supremacists are marching on the Capitol and extremists are mobilizing to overturn election results that don’t go their way. We can’t give in to the liars and haters. Our flag and this nation belongs to all of us. Let’s start the new year with righteous determination to vote and defend our right to fair elections. — Mary Lou Fulton
