Americana Highways brings you this premiere album stream of The March Divide’s album cinq, due to be released on April 23. The album was mixed and mastered by Alan Sanderson, at Pacific Beat Recording in San Diego.
All songs were recorded by Jared Putnam, at home, in Benbrook, TX. Almost all bass was recorded and performed by Ernie Garcia, at Foxtail Studios, in Escondido, CA. Real drums were recorded and performed by Jason West, at home, in San Antonio. Todd “Taz” Anthony recorded and played bass guitar and did the drums on “Remember Who You Are,” at Blue Ocean Studios, in San Antonio. Taz also did the drums on “Funk That You’re In” and just generally helped out with edits and all things above Jared’s skill level. This all took place throughout 2020 while everybody was all stuck at home. This album is pop indie folk by The March Divide that’ll recall the Beatles and contemporary sentiments. It ranges over lies, betrayal, frustration, and hope, with doses of muted euphoria.
Not only having to navigate the obstacles of recording remotely, but also the emotional rollercoaster of not knowing what’s going to happen makes this album feel like an adventure, to me. It’s only fitting that it’s being released on the dawn of what feels like a new beginning. – Jared Putnam, The March Divide
