Video Premiere: A Love Electric “This is the Time”

Listen & Watch Video Premieres

Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of A Love Electric’s song “This is the Time.”  This song is from the band’s forthcoming album Permanent Immigrant, which was produced by Hernán Hecht; recorded and mixed at HH Studio in Mexico City; mastered by Erick Urbina at Reso Mastering, with album art by El Dee.  The song was written by Todd Clouser and Hernán Hecht

“This is the Time” is Todd Clouser on vocals and guitars; Aarón Cruz on bass, slide guitar, and harmonica; Hernán Hecht – on drums, percussion, keyboards, string arrangements and vocals.

The video is by Pepe Pissdrunx from Durango, Mexico — a collection of dark and intriguing black and white visual snippets that complement the funky innovation of the song itself.  Rhythms hypnotically draw you in to a punctuated dreamscape that questions the time we’re in.

We filmed these video vignettes on tour in a tiny town called Reberlah in the north of Germany. Jan and Tine are two German concert promoters and dear friends who live off the grid up there, all on solar and cooking from their garden, and they also love kind of bizarre rock n roll music. They are our greatest advocates in Germany and maybe anywhere. We stay out at their homemade home and this run almost got stuck their for the entirety of the pandemic, eventually getting out on one of the last trains to Amsterdam and flying back to Mexico City the next day.

The animation is by a skater friend in Durango, Mexico who goes by Pepe Pissdrunx. He’s a loose but ambitious ship and a true artist.
