Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of Jason Herndon’s song “Honey,” from his album I Don’t Know, due to be available on July 10. “Honey” is Jason Herndon on guitars, bass, drums, keys and harmonica; Philip de Steiguer on piano, organ and synth; Evan Maddox on trumpet and Kevin Post on steel guitar. I Don’t Know was produced and engineered by Jason Herndon and recorded at Jasonik Boom Records Nashville, TN, mixed and mastered by Evan Maddox at The Levee Elba, Alabama.
The video for “Honey” was directed by Taylor Rose. In a rustic log cabin, the song about growing apart like two old planks of wood is breathed into life. Jason Herndon pens songs about the gentle heartbreak of nostalgia.
The video was shot on a 300-acre private farm in Diana, TN. The concept was to convey the emotion of leaving something behind that you once cherished like a relationship or maybe a really special car. Taylor Rose, the video director, did a great job capturing the emotion of the song and the 1979 Pontiac Trans Am we used was really cool! — Jason Herndon
