Song Premiere: Chris Milam’s “Phoenix”

Listen & Watch Song Premieres

Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Chris Milam’s song “Phoenix” from his forthcoming album Meanwhile.  Meanwhile was produced by Toby Vest and mixed by Pete Matthews, both at High/Low Recording. The album was mastered by Matt Qualls at Young Avenue Sound.  “Phoenix” is Chris Milam on guitars and lead vocal;  Abbye West Pates, Brandon Kinder, and Luke White on backing vocals; Rick Steff on keys, Marc Franklin on trumpet; Elen Wroten on cello; Jake Vest on bass and Toby Vest on noise & effects.

With his easygoing style, Chris Milam has crafted songs to get you through the current atmosphere of stress.

“Phoenix” is one of my favorites to listen to because the performances really bring out the story; you get to hear everyone in full-form. Ultimately, I think it’s the most hopeful song on Meanwhile. It would’ve been a nice closer–on a different album. “I can’t steer my story straight,” after all. — Chris Milam
