REVIEW : Wyman & The Wolves’ Self-Titled Debut EP Promises Greatness

Reviews

Wyman & the Wolves’ self-titled debut EP serves as a tantalizing introduction to this talented LA-based band who describe their sound as “ a tasty blend of Alt-Country, Rock, and Soul”, a claim they back up with the five songs included on this EP.

Lead vocalist Kyle Wyman sounds like a more soulful version of the legendary 70s and 80s country warbler Gary Stewart on all five tracks and the musicianship and production values throughout are all superb with the Bluegrass infused fiddle playing of guest musician Jonathan Sheldon particularly standing out.

While all five of the tracks are strong, the highlights of this EP are the driving, relentless Country Rock tune “The Door”, and the mournful slow-burning Country love song “ Litte Miss Lonely Heart.”

Both succinctly highlight the ability of the band to fuse together the multiple genres of Americana in their songs and leave you humming their melodies long after listening to them.

This EP, which promises future greatness from this band, is available on Spotify. and at www.wymanandthewolves.com
