Aaron Skiles “Ain’t No Marks”
Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Aaron Skiles’ song “Ain’t No Marks” from his upcoming LP Angels, Demons & Coin Flips, which was recorded at Melrose Studio (Hollywood, CA) and in JT Studio (Landers, CA). It was produced by Aaron Skiles and Josh Jové; engineered and mixed by Josh Jové; and mastered by Colin Christian (of Wires & Noise).

“Ain’t No Marks” is Aaron Skiles on lead vocals, guitars, bass, and piano; Josh Jové on lead guitar, bass, backing vocals, keys, and percussion; David Rabkin on drums, percussion, and backing vocals; and Robert Columbus on drums and percussion.
As Aaron tells us about this song, “It’s a melodic ode to living life on the edge and recognizing that getting by is all about perspective–and a little luck doesn’t hurt either.”
This song is a tribute to accepting the good with the bad, and a healthy dose of stoicism: “I guess I can’t complain, seeing pleasure in the pain, there ain’t no marks.” With a steady rhythm and electric guitar riffs, Aaron Skiles probes the elements of resignation with an acknowledgement that life is easiest when we accept everything as it comes.
