The Two Tracks “Mexico By Friday”

Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of The Two Tracks’ song “Mexico by Friday“ from their upcoming fifth album Seasons Unknown, which was produced by Will Kimbrough and is set for release on June 5. The album was mixed by Trina Shoemaker, engineered by Sean Sullivan, and mastered by Alex McCullough.
“Mexico By Friday” was written by Julie Huebner who also sings lead vocals and plays acoustic guitar; with Dave Huebner on harmony vocals and electric guitar; Taylor Phillips on bass; Fernando Serna on drums; and special guest Will Kimbrough on electric guitar.
As Julie Huebner tells us, “That song came from our time in the Baja desert—living simply, off the grid, and feeling like time slows down. It’s about love, place, and the kind of freedom you can’t really explain unless you’ve felt it.”
There’s a bounce and a whole lot of talent in this song, and a sultry rendezvous to look forward to, after getting out of town where we’re all hemmed in: “no need to shovel that driveway, we’ll be in Mexico by Friday. Come down to meet me at our secret spot, it takes a while to get there on gravel.” It’s a little bit Western and a whole lot of infectious grooves.
