Rebekah Snyder “The Fiddle Player Stays”
Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Rebekah Snyder’s song “The Fiddle Player Stays” from her forthcoming album Don’t Ever Date A Yankee. The album was produced by Dean Miller, mixed by David Buchanan, and mastered by Alex McCullough of True East Mastering. It was recorded at Beaird Music Group in Nashville.
Musicians on the song are Rebekah on vocals; Wanda Vick on fiddle; Evan Hutchins on drums; Mike Rinne on bass; Troy Lancaster on electric guitar; Billy Nobel on piano; Justin Schipper on steel guitar; and Pat McGrath on acoustic guitar.
This is just a fun story with a bit of sass and insolence, sure to lighten your mood with uptempo beats, fiddle on fire, and Rebekah’s defiant vocals. And check out the lines: “Word must have got out fast last night / I heard from several sources / The outlaws want their fiddle player back

As Rebekah tells us about the story behind the song, “I went to an open stage night at a local country bar to play my songs, and the Appalachian band “Possum and the Rails” was there. The lead singer, a former member of the motorcycle club “The Outlaws” and banjo player, fell ill just before their performance. The fiddle player from the band was sitting at the bar, so I sat next to him and introduced myself and asked if he would join me on stage for my set. And so, he did, and it was wonderful. The next day on my socials, I posted a video of me playing with the fiddle player, “Last night I stole a fiddle player from a band of outlaws”, the first line of the song. The lead singer/banjo player of the band messaged me and said menacingly, “I want my fiddle player back today.” I told him, “I’m keeping him and not giving him back.” And this interaction led to the storyline and creation of “The Fiddle Player Stays.” – all based on a true story.”
