Pavlov’s Dog “Jet Black Cadillac”

Americana Highways presents this premiere of Pavlov’s Dog’s song “Jet Black Cadillac” from their forthcoming album Wonderlust, which is set for release on October 3. Wonderlust was produced by David Surkamp, Abbie Steiling and Jacob Detering; mixed and engineered by Jacob Detering at Red Pill Studio in St. Louis, MO; and mastered by Brad Sarno at Blue Jade Audio Mastering.

“Jet Black Cadillac” is David Surkamp on guitar and vocals; Phil Ring on lead guitar; Rick Steiling on bass; Steve Bunck on drums; Abbie Steiling on violin; and David Hamilton on keyboard.

This video was edited by Tino Sieland with audio editing by Michael Murauer of Studio St. Annen.

As David tells us, “It was an incredible collaboration making this video with Abbie (Steiling), bringing life to one of our favorite songs on Wonderlust.” A touch of rustic fiddle at the beginning adds natural grounding to this mid tempo, laid back rock song. David’s higher register vocals possess multiple degrees of authenticity in this song about getting back home in that jet black Cadillac. It’s quite a remarkable amalgamation between keys, cinematic violin, rootsy violin, progressive electric guitar riffs and rhythms, and nostalgia. Well done.
