Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Silver Lake 66’s song “When You Fall,” from their recently released album The Space Between Us. The Portland duo had this footage recorded as part of a grant, as a way to showcase their core. It was a chance to play as a bare bones duo, instead of as their typical full-band live shows, and the result was an appealing performance just calling out to be shared.

“It won’t be hard to catch you when you fall, you’re an angel backed up against a wall” are the opening lines to this lovely song, and the result is calming and optimistic — precisely what we all need right now.
Last summer, we were fortunate to receive a grant from the Holler Fund, a Portland based non-profit. We usually play live with our full band, which we love! Making this video gave us a chance to do one of our more quiet songs that we don’t usually perform live with our band. The live version showcases the intimate nature of the song, as well as the vocal duet.
