Jaime Michaels – “How To Shine”
Americana Highways presents this video premiere of Jaime Michaels’ song “How To Shine,” the title track from his recently released album. The album was produced and recorded by Jono Manson at the Kitchen Sink Studio, in Santa Fe, NM. It was mastered by David Glasser at Airshow Mastering in Boulder, CO.
“How To Shine” is Jaime on acoustic guitar and vocals; Andrew Hardin on second guitar; Dirje Childs on cello and Char Rothschild on accordion.
This video was directed with camera work by Lu Magaro, the story was by Gabriele Zanoncelli, and drone footage was courtesy of Gabriele Zanoncelli. Breathtaking footage of vivid yellow painting (against black and white surroundings) down by the riverside creates a stage setup for a lovely song about acceptance, self-acceptance, and staying open. “When memories are all that;’s left you, you’ll paint them as you need. Tonight I need the moon to show me how to shine on me.” Jaime Michaels proves to be a songwriter and a teacher in this one.
At its heart, this is a song about forgiveness, a song about looking back at your life, warts and all, and being OK with who you are and what you’ve done. — Jaime Michaels
