Stephen Clair – “I Think You’re Lonely”

Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Stephen Clair’s song “I Think You’re Lonely” from his forthcoming album The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life, due to be released on November 17th. This song“I Think You’re Lonely” will be available Sept 29th. The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life was recorded by Stephen Clair in the Rodeo Room in Beacon NY.  Jonny Taylor of Beacon AV Lab later mixed and mastered the album. The front cover was hand drawn by Grammy-nominated Randall Martin.

“I Think You’re Lonely” is Stephen Clair using four microphones on vocals, guitar, and a tiny piano.  It sounds quite easy, natural and comforting.  You’ll really notice the care that was taken in recording.  And the song is sweet and replete with important little details.  “At least I know you’re there.”

“I Think You’re Lonely” comes from that all-too familiar place, the late-night scrolling frenzy. We take in other people’s social media feeds, and let our imaginations fill in the blanks. This sort of detached proximity is how we keep up with one another these days, right? But do we know how this individual is doing or are we just making it all up? – Stephen Clair
