Jim Patton & Sherry Brokus – “Dead End Town”

Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Jim Patton & Sherry Brokus’ song “Dead End Town” from their forthcoming album Big Red Gibson, which is slated for release on October 13. Big Red Gibson was recorded, mixed, and produced by Ron Flynt at Jumping Dog Studios, Austin Texas.

“Dead End Town” is Jim on vocals, acoustic and rhythm guitars; Sherry on vocals; Bettysoo on vocals; Cordy Lavery on lead six and 12 string guitars; Ron Flynt on rhythm guitar, keyboards, bass, and background vocals; and Steve McCarthy on drums.  “Let’s pack up the car and get out of this place…. I don’t care, it could be anywhere, this is a dead end town.” Influenced by 20th century novels and real life tales from the world around us, Patton and Brokus have melded whimsical amusement with authentic observations.  Check out this one.

A man wants to leave his past behind and leave his hometown with its limited and narrow culture behind. He just wants to wake up where no one knows his face and where something new could happen. – Jim Patton
