Reckless Saints

Video Premiere: Reckless Saints “Til the Medicine Takes”

Listen & Watch Song Premieres

Americana Highways is hosting this video premiere of Reckless Saints’ song “‘Til the Medicine Takes,” from their recently released album Blue Twangled Folk ‘n Roll.  The album was recorded at Shiny Gnu Studios; engineered and mixed by Roy Schneider; produced by Reckless Saints, with additional production by Rob Pastore.  It was mastered by Mark Hallman at The Congress House Studio.

“‘Til the Medicine Takes” is Kim Mayfield on rhythm guitar and lead vocals; and  Roy Schneider on lead guitar, bass guitar, and congas.

The video was filmed by Dan Philgreen at Tribby Arts Center in Ft. Myers, FL, and edited by Roy Schneider at Shiny Gnu Studios.  Sultry and grooves, with a voice that matches the casual sway of the congas, this song will hold your spellbound.  Tell me how long ’til the medicine takes.

“’Til the Medicine Takes” is an expression of my lockdown anxiety, from early in the quarantine before vaccines were even on the horizon. I was having Covid nightmares and, to be fair, it was a nightmarish hellscape! People have pointed out to me that it could also be a song about addiction. – Kim Mayfield
