Americana Highways brings you this premiere of Easy Dreams’ song “Am I A Fool?” from their forthcoming album Sunformer, due to be available on May 12. Sunformer was produced by Adam Lasus at Studio Red and Los Angeles, and mastered by Joe Lambert.
“Am I A Fool” is Brandon White on vocals and guitar, Meredith Meyer on vocals, guitar and keys, Pete DiBiasio on bass, and Kenny Kupers on drums. Thoughtful and authentic, in this song Easy Dreams offers the musings that come in the moments of midnight wakefulness, with gentle guitar licks and a slow tempo. The lyrics connect us with the dreamy movements out the window in nature, in fields and in expansive sky, with that sense of wondering that songs like this can soothe for us all.
“Am I A Fool?” is our ultimate midnight heartbreak song. I spent a lot of time back in Oklahoma during the writing of this album, being a caregiver to my mom. I had a lot of nights pacing and looking at the sky, just wondering what the future held. When things outside of our control take over our lives, we’re incredibly fragile. This song kind of mirrors that time and those feelings, and ultimately was a way to soothe that confusion. — Meredith Meyer
