Americana Highways presents this premiere of Tipps & Obermiller’s song “Rewind / Repeat,” from their forthcoming album Love (and other mysteries), due to be released on March 24th.
Love (and other mysteries) was produced by Stefan Prigmore, Hilary Tipps & Steve Obermiller; engineered by Peter Weirenga with additional engineering by Tanner Landry, and engineering assistance by Geoff Rockwell.
It was recorded at Southside Recorders in Fort Worth, Texas, with additional recording at Meadowbrook Sounds and at Fort Worth Sound, Studio B.
“Rewind / Repeat” is Hilary Tipps on guitar and vocals; Steve Obermiller on guitar and vocals; Trey Ware on drums; Matt Tedder on electric guitar; Aden Bubeck on bass. There’s a undeniable bounce in the way this song unfolds, with a minor chord harmonic blend on the vocals create a bit of a shover, and than that contains an essence of the blues in this folk song.
This was our third song written together. This one is about our insecurities, self-doubt, and how much we can “be in our own heads.” With this one, we were tweaking the lyrics right up to theday of recording. — Hilary Tipps
