Carter Sampson

Song Premiere: Carter Sampson “Gold”

Listen & Watch Song Premieres

Americana Highways presents this premiere of Carter Sampson’s song “Gold,” the title track from her new album due to be released on April 7 via Horton Records. All songs on the album were written by Carter (ASCAP – Queen Of Oklahoma Publishing). Gold was produced by Carter Sampson and Kyle Reid; engineered and mixed by Kyle Ried; and mastered by Garrett Haines at Treelady Studios.

“Gold” is Carter Sampson on acoustic guitar and vocals; Johnny Carlton on bass; and Kyle Reid on all other instruments.  Carter Sampson may have some scars to talk about with her mama as she stands on her own two feet and faces life head on nonetheless.  This song is for all of us who still run to our mama when the going gets rough, even though we’ve got things under control overall.  And with the pedal steel and layered instruments behind the words, it’s easy to see why Carter is the Queen of Oklahoma.

No matter how old I get, sometimes I still need to have a good cry to my mom. I wrote Gold to assure her that I’m gonna be ok and that she doesn’t need to worry about me anymore. I got this. Thank you mama.  — Carter Sampson
