The Heavy Heavy play the BMI Kickoff Party last Tuesday night in Nashville.
Americana Highways was on the scene for the BMI Kickoff Party in Nashvilles’s Music Row for AmericanaFest on Tuesday night, September 13.
The kickoff opener was the trippy, psychedelic and roots rock British band The Heavy Heavy. The performance was on the sixth floor rooftop providing a panoramic view of the Nashville skyline. What a smashing start to what promises to be a celebratory festival this year.
This was the first US gig for the band before they embark on a 35 show date tour.
Their inaugural album, Life and Life Only, was released on June 1
The first song on the set had a touch of surf rock. A recommended song title is “Go Down River” #3 on their set. Another song on the set gave a dose of blue-eyed soul.
New to so many hard core music fans, The Heavy Heavy was well received on an uncharacteristically pleasant mid-September evening in Nashville. The band brought the heat instead of the weather.
