Listen & Watch Song Premieres

Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of The Ransom Brothers’ song “Jesus Dancing,” from their forthcoming album Resurgence, due to be released on August 26.  Resurgence was produced by Corby Schaub; recorded at The Zone Recording Studio in Dripping Springs, Texas; engineered by Pat Manske and Corby Schaub with editing and comping by Corby Schaub; and mixed and mastered by Pat Manske.  Additional recording occurred at Jumping Dog Studio in Austin, Schaubinit Studio in Liberty Hill, with additional recording by Bob Driver III.

“Jesus Dancing” is Sean McHargue on lead vocals, lead and rhythm electric guitars; Daniel Solis on lead and rhythm electric guitars; Phil Eckhardt on bass; John “JT” Thomas on fiddle; Wade Hill on electric guitars and harmony vocals; James Rodman on B3 organ; and Corby Schaub on drums.  This latest release by the Ransom Brothers proves they know dang well how to layer up a serious groove.  On top of it, they tackle serious contradictions between the beliefs we were raised with and the path we are called to.

Most of the guys in the band are religious in one way or another. “Jesus Dancing” explains that balance between faith and the music lifestyle. Most of the album, in fact, is a juxtaposition and Jesus Dancing best exemplifies that combination of light/dark, Saturday night/Sunday morning, etc.  –Sean McHargue
