Alias James — “Where You Used To Be”
Americana Highways is hosting this video premiere for Alias James’ song “Where You Used To Be,” from his recently released album Free Country.
“Where You Used to Be” is Alias James on guitar and vocals; Dave Zirbel on pedal steel; JP McLean on standup bass; and Ezra Lipp on drums.
The video features Kelly Jeanne and Michael with camera footage by AJ and SA, and drone work by Ian Hutchinson. Alias James crafts beautiful songs with imagery you can almost taste, and can definitely feel. In its simple storyline of a couple smiling and dancing slow on a ranch in sepia tone, the video captures the very essence of the sorrowful longing and loss of AJ’ s songwriting. If life could only be that simple.
This is a song about losing someone, and I hope Merle Haggard would approve. — Alias James
