Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of Tyler Edwards’ song “Highway Dust,” a track from his forthcoming album, A Falling Sky, slated for release in September.
The album was produced by Jim Stephens; mixed by Neil Hampton and Ryan Freeland (Bonnie Raitt); and mastered by Kim Rosen of Knack Mastering (Rhiannon Giddens, The Mild Carton Kids).
“Highway Dust” is Jesse Proctor on drums; Nate Vigil on bass; Jamison Dewlen on pedal steel;
Jim Stephens on guitar; Tyler Edwards on guitars and vocals; and Mikaela Edwards on backing vocals.
This lyric video was created by Tyler Edwards. He has a gentle delivery and the pedal steel is hushed and dreamlike… and in an instant, you’ll be right there with him, picking your heart up off the floor. “You got hurt, but I don’t hear you cry no more.”
I chose this song as the lead single because I feel like it really sets the tone and stage for the record. It was also the first song we finished recording mixing. I have written many songs about travelling and moving on as many successful and aspiring troubadours have done and will continue to do. But this was one of the first times I invited someone with me. — Tyler Edwards
