Song Premiere: The Barlow “All My Days”

Listen & Watch Song Premieres

Americana Highways brings you this premiere of The Barlow’s song “All My Days,” from their album New Year, Old Me, due to be available on June 24.  The album was produced by The Barlow and Brad Smalling; engineered by Brad Smalling, Shea Boynton, and Jason Brogly; mixed and mastered by Brad Smalling at Evergroove Studio and recorded at Evergroove Studio, E Squared Studio, and at Brogly Sound. All songs on New Year, Old Me were written by Shea Boynton and The Barlow. Album artwork is courtesy of Stoney Wayne Bass

The Core band for The Barlow is Shea Boynton on vocals, guitar, and banjo; Troy Scoope on bass;  Ben Richter on drums; and Brad Johnson on guitar and vocals. Additional musicians on the album are  Ben Waligoske on pedal steel; Andy Schneider on keys; and Dan Hochhalter on fiddle.

This song starts out like a heavy end country song and quickly changes up to lighter fare with fiddle and banjo and the country guitar steps back to do some nimble, softer but complex leads. Suddenly you’re transported to a country porch jam and what feels like a sorely needed, broken hearted love song.

This song was intended to be written for a singer-songwriter buddy of mine and I decided to keep it because I liked it so much. It’s a narrative tale about a young love gone wrong. Hope you enjoy it! —  Shea Boynton
