Video Premiere: Mike Stevens “Livin’ In Sarnia”

Listen & Watch Video Premieres

Americana Highways brings you this video premiere of Mike Stevens’ song “Living’ in Sarnia,” from his forthcoming album Breathe In the World, Breathe Out Music, coming out May 20.  The album was recorded and mixed at The Grove Productions by Mike McKyes and also mixed at The Cottage by Scott Merritt.

“Livin’ in Sarnia” features vocals by Cory James Mitchell, and is Mike Stevens on harmonica,  Jeff Getty on acoustic guitar, Art Hratchian on drums, and Kevin Breit on electric guitar.

Great harmonica playing blended with the authentic vocals by Cory James Mitchell fold into a beautiful bluesy stew on this song, and the dash of hometown blues spices up the recipe.  Add to the song the footage of the town and a sprinkle of humor and you’ve got this highly entertaining short film.

This video is a labor of love directed by Richard Beland and impossibly created at the height of the Covid lockdowns. It showcases the City of Sarnia, where I was born and still live and the beautiful Aamjiwnaang First Nation.

Along with the amazing band, so many friends and special guests with strong ties to the area made cameos, like astronaut Col Chris Hadfield, Mayor Mike Bradley, The Wealthy Barber and Dragon’s Den star David Chilton, comedian John Wing, Donovan Woods and many more. — Mike Stevens
