Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Wayne Willingham’s song “Temptation Row,” the title track from his album set to release on May 13. Temptation Row was produced by Wayne Willingham and Cliff Stegall; it was recorded, mixed and mastered at Bethesda Studios in Fort Worth Texas with Cliff Stegall engineering. The cover photography for the album was taken by Gary Caskey Photography and the graphics are courtesy of Lorie Park.
“Temptation Row” is Wayne Willingham on guitars and vocals; Cliff Stegall on bass and background vocals, and Caleb Barnett on percussion. In a tale about the seedier side of humanity, Willingham delivers foreboding baritone mixed with dashed hopes and mortal embarrassment when your head hits the pavement.
There’s such a place about 10 miles away. I’ve never been, but you hear stories. All lit up, never any cars, I wondered how they stayed in business. I stopped nearby for gas once, and saw cars parked behind a fence. Ahh – I get it, thus the line “hidden parking ’round the back.” — Wayne Willingham
