Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Carley Arrowood’s song “I’m Still Broken” from her forthcoming album Goin’ Home, Comin’ On. The album was produced by Jon Weisberger, engineered by Clay Miller at Crossroads Studios, Arden, NC and David Rhyne at Traffic Sound Studio in Dallas, NC. It was mixed and mastered by Scott Barnett at Crossroads Studios.
“I’m Still Broken” is Carley Arrowood on vocals and fiddle; Daniel Thrailkill on harmony vocals and acoustic guitar; Kristin Scott Benson on banjo; Wayne Benson on mandolin; Paul Watson on bass and Autumn Watson on harmony vocals. Carley has a very fluid and breezy bluegrass style, and her song about the “golden days we lived before” will tug at your heartstrings.
“I’m Still Broken” is a kind of lonesome song about holding out hope for that one ended relationship you thought was supposed to be right. I love that the writers (Jon Weisberger & Theo MacMillan) still made it an upbeat tune, though, as it conveys the amount of hope the lead has that one day, their person will come back around. I especially love the strong harmony parts we were able to put together on the choruses! My sister Autumn and my husband Daniel did a beautiful job, and I hope listeners enjoy this little tune. — Carley Arrowood
