Phil Gammage — “What Would I Do?”
Americana Highways is hosting this video premiere of Phil Gammage’s song “What Would I Do?” from his album From Nowhere to Somewhere. The album was produced by Tony Mann and engineered by Brent McLachlan at 30 Below Studios, New York, NY.
“What Would I Do?” is Phil Gammage on vocals and guitar; Michael Fox on drums; Brian Karp on bass; with Michele Butler and Joe Nieves on backing vocals.
The video was produced by PreFab International Cine. Cinematography is by Green Kill. The video stats actors Lara Hope and Jesse Towey. The darkened shadows of the video place the musicians in the spotlight in a visually attractive way. This song by Gammage is rollicking and amusing, with roots rock and rockabilly energy that’ll have you rocking and rolling in your seat. Great guitar playing too.
We filmed this video one afternoon in Kingston, New York at the Green Kill artists space. I’m so happy to have had my friends Lara Hope and Jesse Towey join me as ‘actors’ for the video shoot. Their energy and sense of fun was contagious, it’s a feel good song and a feel good music video. Originally an outdoor video shoot was scheduled in New York’s Hudson Valley, but on the day of the shoot, a huge nor’easter storm hit the mid-Atlantic and fortunately we all were able to move indoors and continue. As we filmed the winds were howling and the rain pelting outside. Very apocalyptic indeed! — Phil Gammage
