Song Premiere: The Storm Windows “Life is a Railroad”

Listen & Watch Video Premieres

Americana Highways brings you this premiere of The Storm Windows song “Life is a Railroad,” from their forthcoming self-titled album due to be available on February 25.  The Storm Windows record was produced by The Storm Windows band.

“Life is a Railroad” is Rob Mathews on guitars and vocals; Don Mathews on bass and vocals; Nate Felty on drums; and Andy Ellison on pedal steel.   The pedal steel provides the winding nostalgia here that mimics what you see out the train window, or when you reflect on life’s ups and downs up until now.  The Storm Windows’ music merges a cathartic element and a soothing element, with shuffley rhythms and a lyrical reminder of the analogy between a railroad line and life itself.

We have regrouped after a hiatus, formerly mainstays on the Greenwich Village music scene. This debut single is part based on a classic philosophical analogy – with the train (the present) rolling down the tracks (the past and future) — and part just a song about a train, and trying to enjoy the ride on a road less traveled. — Rob and Don Mathews
