Americana Highways presents this video premiere of David Tribble’s song “Golden Junk,” the title track from his recent release. Golden Junk was recorded at Marken Media Co. Studio in Devine, Texas. It was engineered, mixed and mastered by Marcus Buckner; and co-produced by Marcus Buckner & David Tribble. The cover photo is courtesy of Nathan Grady Price.
Musicians on “Golden Junk” in this video are David Tribble on guitar and vocals, David Smith on drums, Michael Peterson on bass; Jake Kerley on keys; and Ben Miller on lead guitar.
The video was filmed, produced, and edited by Nathan Price at Stereo Music Recording Studio in Fort Worth in September 2021. There’s a haunting quality to David Tribble’s songs and this one is a prime example. We’re drowning in golden junk, aren’t we? “Weighing us down to the core.” The video is gritty and grainy and captures the tone perfectly. Maybe the concept of golden junk takes on a new meaning during the holidays too. Listen and decide for yourself.
This is my third video with Nathan and I am always so grateful and proud to be a part of the work he does. This one is exciting because in a way I’m introducing the band for the first time, after a year of playing together, and after a long solo career this takes things to another level for people to see and connect with. This video hopefully sharpens the message for the album as a whole, as well as immulating how we tracked the songs live in the studio. Plus it’s a way of sharing the studio experience with the audience, minus all the fooling around and the pizza we were eating between takes. David Tribble
