AmericanaFest 2021 — Day 5

The last day of Americana Fest and it was big one. Warm and sunny again in Nashville. Can’t believe the weather we have had. The day started at the brand new Eastside Bowl which is going to be amazing when finished. They hosted the Americana Fest Day Stage sponsored by “Roots Radio” WMOT 89.5 and NPR and broadcast live.

The featured bands included the beautiful harmonies of the Whitmore Sisters, balladeer Jason Eady, rockers S.G. Goodman, impeccable singer/songwriter Hayes Carll, and folk rocker Tré Burt. Came back for a nap before hitting it hard.

Grabbed a Jimmy John’s sandwich while hiking to 3rd and Lindsley. Which was a treat. Got there early enough to get a seat for the packed legendary singer/songwriter Rodney Crowell‘s set.

Then, off to the newly remodeled Basement East which looks great considering the tornado damage. Headliners were country rockers Sarah Shook and the Disarmers and Lilly Hiatt and closed out with country “bad girl” Carlene Carter. Amazing town, amazing music, amazing people, and an amazing time. For sure a lifetime experience. But, for now, I think it’s time for a nap. I will however miss waking up to WSM in the mornings.

  1. I always wonder if the artists playing ever get paid

When the first Americana Award was handed to Guy Clark on the Deck of Fazio’s, he said.

“Thank you for this Non Monetary achievement award.”
