Americana Highways is home to this premiere of Herrick’s song “Beyond This Town,” from the duo’s forthcoming album Sunderland Road. The album was produced by Herrick, David Walker and GRAMMY Award Nominee engineer Snake Reynolds.
“Beyond This Town” is Kerry Herrick on bass; Donna Herrick on mandolin; Scotty Kormos on drums and tambourine; Michael Bonagura on electric and acoustic guitars; “Snake” Reynolds on electric guitar; and David Van Walker on organ. With a Lou Reed style saunter, but bright acoustic tones, Herrick will hypnotize you. And in particular this song of longing to move beyond this town will hit home.
“Beyond This Town” was an easy write. We grew up in a small town. Having big dreams in a small town is a hard thing sometimes. Moving to Nashville to follow our dreams was a hard thing to do as well. Sometimes you just feel like the ‘outsiders.’ Nothing has ever come easy.
We have worked hard to get to where we are today and in the process we have learned so much. Live your dream, don’t wait to be told yes! It’s worth every mile to do what you love in this short life. Dare to live beyond your town! – Donna Herrick
