Angela Soffe — “Bloom”
Americana Highways presents this premiere of Angela Soffe’s song “Bloom” from her upcoming 9-track album due to be released later this year. The album was produced by ACM Engineer of the Year nominee Gena Johnson (Ashley Monroe, Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell, Kacey Musgraves). Gena Johnson works will noted Nashville produced Dave Cobb. The song will be available on July 30.
“Bloom” is Angela Soffe on piano and vocals; with Zach Casebolt (performer/arranger – Alison Krauss, Brandi Carlile, Carrie Underwood, Lauren Daigle, etc) on strings. Angela Soffe’s clear vocal tones have a hint of fragility that are perfect for the honest hopeful emotion of her songs.
I wrote this in March coming out of quarantine this year. Looking around at the people who had grown together and also grown apart. The pandemic taught us about relationships and what matters most. We saw which relationships matter, and which we were ready to release. I saw couples break up, and at the same time families suffering from being separated continents apart. The pandemic really shaped the context for this song. The song is really about a collective and personal awakening to what matters most – the people in our lives. — Angela Soffe
