Song Premiere: The Deltaz “I Went Away Too Much”

Listen & Watch Song Premieres

Americana Highways brings you this premiere of The Deltaz’ song “I Went Away Too Much,” from their forthcoming album Turn It Back. The album was recorded and engineered by The Deltaz and mastered by Tommy Wiggins.

“I Went Away Too Much” is Ted Siegel on guitar and vocals;  John Siegel on drums, harmonica, percussion and backing vocals;  Corey Dawson on bass; and Bobby Victor on Wurlitzer electric keyboard.  The idea that one partner went away too much is surely a common stressor.  The poppy harmonies of the Deltaz belie the song’s addressing a more serious complication when dealing with others in life.  The Deltaz  do a great job of crafting a memorable tune with a seriously catchy refrain.

“I Went Away Too Much”  is one of those break up songs you always want to write. As a songwriter its your duty to not waste an opportunity like a relationship gone bad, especially if it’s got a good story. We’ve traveled around the world performing and its an experience that I would never trade but it ends up putting too much space between you and the people back home. I feel like my favorite heartbreak tunes get you dancing so we threw in a Tom Petty guitar driven backbeat and a harmonica solo. — The Deltaz
